Football Recap: Wellington Comes Up Short

Wellington fell victim to Spanish River and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Sharks. The Wolverines were not able to make up for their loss to the Sharks from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Jonathan Paul threw for 42 yards on five of 17 attempts.

Spanish River's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacorrion McCrary, who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. Another passer making a difference was Jaeden Phillips, who threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes.

Wellington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Spanish River, the victory also got them back to even at 2-2.

Wellington has already played their next contest, a 19-12 loss against Palm Beach Lakes on the 26th. As for Spanish River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-0 win against Coral Glades on the 26th.
