Basketball Recap: Surry HomeSchool Takes a Loss

Surry HomeSchool lost against South Guilford HomeSchool last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots lost 37-16 to the South Guilford HomeSchool Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Runnin' Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Cougars are ranked 17th).

South Guilford HomeSchool was led to victory by Kourtney Bullins and Isa Bosch. Bullins posted eight points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Bosch almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassidy Bullins, who had seven points and five rebounds.

Surry HomeSchool has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Surry HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Calvary Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Calvary Christian will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Surry HomeSchool surely won't give up without a fight. South Guilford HomeSchool and State Line HomeSchool R will compete for holiday cheer at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
