Softball Recap: Eustis Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Eustis nor University made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Panthers came out on top against the Titans by a score of 3-0. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 7-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

University's batters probably weren't too happy with Carson Roden, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (she gave up four walks). Roden has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eustis' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emmy Luke, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Eustis is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eustis will host South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for University, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Taylor at 4:00 p.m. on the 20th.
