The Eastlake Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Redmond Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastlake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
While Eastlake's victory against Bothell wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolves skirted past the Cougars 12-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted against the Cougars since March 24, 2022.

Addi Baumgartner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and seven unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Heather Lloyd, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Mia Atkins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Lloyd wasn't the only one making solid contact: Eastlake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Redmond has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.06 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They walked away with a 17-12 victory over Lake Washington. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Ainsley Barcalow made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Barcalow was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Livy Ruess was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Simone Loving-Williams, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Redmond pushed their record up to 13-2-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Eastlake, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Eastlake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Redmond struggles in that department as they've averaged .373. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eastlake suffered a grim 17-5 defeat to Redmond in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
