Baseball Recap: Webster County Comes Up Short

Webster County came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Poca Dots, falling 20-12.

Maddox Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Webster County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Greyden Channel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Webster County has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Poca, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-18.
