There's no place like home for Lake Region, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the Freeport Falcons 8-1 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Matt Plummer was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Meehan, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Lake Region pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Freeport, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
