Recap: Cristo Rey Saints vs. Faith Christian Lions
This season hasn't been kind to the Cristo Rey Saints, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They were beaten by Faith Christian 68-20 on Tuesday. Cristo Rey was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-6.
Faith Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Max Bryan led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bryan has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cedric Smith, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Cristo Rey's defeat was their 11th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Faith Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-10 record this season.
Cristo Rey will head out on the road to square off against Sacramento Adventist at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Faith Christian, they will be playing at home against Valley Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Faith Christian likes a good challenge.
