Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeview). They were the clear victors by a 16-10 margin over the White Cloud Indians on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won three in a row.
Baylor Syrjala made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Syrjala was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, Katelyn Buchner was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Buchner is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Mackenzy Ford was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Lakeview lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Lakeview's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for White Cloud, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
