Basketball Recap: South Pointe Takes a Loss

South Pointe came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the James F. Byrnes Rebels, falling 86-40. The contest marked the Stallions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

South Pointe's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5. As for James F. Byrnes, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

South Pointe will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on A.C. Flora at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026. As for James F. Byrnes, they will take on Horse Creek Academy in a tournament on Friday.
