Football Game Preview: Flatonia Bulldogs vs. Kenedy Lions

The Flatonia Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Kenedy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Flatonia will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up ten points on October 3rd, then bounced right back against Danbury last Friday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 32-12 margin over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Kenedy on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Danbury out of the water with a 51-6 final score. The Lions pushed the score to 38-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers had no chance of recovering from.

Kenedy's win came from a few key players Flatonia will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was David Salas, who rushed for 265 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 125 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Karsen Reyes, who picked up 124 receiving yards and three scores.

Kenedy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

Kenedy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isiah Morin and Joel Garcia. Morin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Flatonia's record is now 5-2. As for Kenedy, their record now sits at 6-2.

Flatonia ended up a good deal behind Kenedy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, losing 63-45. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
