Game recap: Anderson-Shiro High School Football Team defeats New Waverly

After taking the lead on a Nick Urquhart touchdown run in the second quarter, Anderson-Shiro (Anderson, Texas) was up 20-8 at the half.

The Fighting Owls expanded their lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. Anderson-Shiro's lone score in the quarter came on a Daylan Williams touchdown run.

Coming into the game AS had allowed 28.0 points per game this year.

The win was a nice bounce back for the Anderson school, which lost to Deweyville last week, 59-24.

In a 2A-2 Region III District 12 game next week New Waverly (0-8) takes on Deweyville, and Anderson-Shiro (5-2) will go up against Groveton also in a 2A-2 Region III District 12 game.
