Basketball Recap: Tolman/Shea Takes a Loss

Tolman/Shea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 42-32 to the Ponaganset Chieftains. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Ponaganset this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-42 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Tolman/Shea still got an impressive performance from Tiyara Gonzalez, who posted 12 points and four steals. Gonzalez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.

Even though they lost, Tolman/Shea smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Tolman/Shea's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Ponaganset, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-2.

Tolman/Shea has already played their next contest, a 62-44 loss against Barrington on the 11th. As for Ponaganset, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-41 win against Cranston West on the 11th.
