Football Game Preview: Greenwood Gators vs. Barren County Trojans

The Greenwood Gators will head out to square off against the Barren County Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Friday, Greenwood got the win against Warren Central by a conclusive 30-6. Considering the Gators have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Barren County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 43-0 victory over Grayson County. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Trojans had established a 36-point advantage.

The win made it two in a row for Greenwood and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 25 points in those games. As for Barren County, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Greenwood against Barren County in their previous meeting back in September of 2020, as the team secured a 49-13 victory. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
