Softball Recap: Skyview Comes Up Short

Skyview fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Billings West on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 3-2. The Falcons have struggled against the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Brooklyn Arce spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Skyview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Gallardo, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Skyview now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Billings West, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Skyview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-2 loss against Billings Senior on the 31st. As for Billings West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Great Falls on the 5th.
