Baseball Recap: New Riegel's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Monday just wasn't the day for New Riegel's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Gibsonburg Golden Bears on Monday. The Blue Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Bears earlier this season, when they won 7-4.

With the defeat, New Riegel broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-10. As for Gibsonburg, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Riegel will head out to take on Hopewell-Loudon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chieftains' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Blue Jackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Gibsonburg, they are taking a road trip to face off against Genoa Area at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
