Soccer Game Preview: Wayland Academy vs. Mayville

Wayland Academy is 0-6 against Mayville since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Big Red will take on the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Friday just wasn't the day for Wayland Academy's offense. They lost 8-0 to Omro on Friday.

Meanwhile, Mayville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Luther Prep, falling 3-0.

Mayville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Wayland Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1-1.

Wayland Academy might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Mayville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Big Red avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
