Soccer Game Preview: Lake Shore vs. Lamphere

The Lake Shore Shorians will head out to take on the Lamphere Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Lake Shore had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the five-goal drubbing they dealt Warren Woods-Tower on Tuesday. The Shorians never let the Titans get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Lake Shore in their matchups with Warren Woods-Tower: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Lamphere entered their tilt with Center Line on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 7-0. Give Lamphere's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Lamphere pushed their record up to 12-4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three matches. As for Lake Shore, their win bumped their record up to 5-10-1.

Lake Shore came up short against Lamphere in their previous meeting on May 9th, falling 2-0. Can the Shorians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
