There's no place like home for Buhach Colony, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Atwater Falcons 42-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunder have posted against the Falcons since November 1, 2019.

Dayton Fitzgerald threw for 32 yards. Charles Peterson was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards. On the ground, Blake O'Brien rushed for 296 yards and four TDs while picking up 14.1 yards per carry.

Despite the loss, Atwater still got an impressive performance from Durrell Morrison, who rushed for 320 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 49 receiving yards and one score. Morrison's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards. Ali Banks Jr was another key player, throwing for 98 yards and three TDs.

Buhach Colony is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Atwater, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Meanwhile, Atwater is set to face off against their familiar foe El Capitan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Morrison and Lorenzo Peters.
