Gospel Light Christian comes up short despite Drake Walker's strong performance

It was a good run, but Gospel Light Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Union Grove Christian 50-46. Gospel Light Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Union Grove Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.

When it comes to explaining why Gospel Light Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Drake Walker. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Walker continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Samuel Sisk was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

Colin Wykes was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points for Union Grove Christian. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wykes has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Johnson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.

Gospel Light Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Union Grove Christian, their win bumped their record up to 25-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gospel Light Christian's homestand continues as they prepare to take on New Manna Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th. Union Grove Christian will take on Woodland Baptist Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodland Baptist Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 342 points over their last five matches.
