Basketball Recap: Coral Gables Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Coral Gables entered their match against Hialeah Educational Academy on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Coral Gables Cavaliers took a 66-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Biggie are ranked 54th).

Coral Gables' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Coral Gables and Miami will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Coral Gables knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Miami likes a good challenge. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, they will take on Calvary Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
