Basketball Recap: Miramonte Drops Season-High Score on Tokay

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Miramonte). They walked away with a 79-67 win over the Tokay Tigers on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Matadors.

Preston Rguem had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds. Adam Houssami was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to seven boards and five blocks.

Miramonte smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Miramonte now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Tokay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Miramonte has already played their next match (against Ygnacio Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tokay will be playing in front of their home fans against Bear Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tokay has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
