Baseball Game Preview: Lockwood Tigers vs. Miller Cardinals

The Lockwood Tigers will face off against the Miller Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lockwood has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Miller will come in with six straight victories.

Lockwood fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Exeter on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Exeter by a score of 4-2.

Roper Gray made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Meanwhile, Miller got themselves on the board against Skyline on Tuesday, but Skyline never followed suit. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3-0. While the Cardinals didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Miller's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Lockwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything went Lockwood's way against Miller when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Lockwood made off with an 11-3 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
