Softball Recap: Valencia Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Valencia's offense. They came up short against the Aliso Niguel Wolverines on Monday, falling 7-0. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valencia got a good showing from Katelynn Hildreth, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits Hildreth has allowed since back in March of 2024.

Valencia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Aliso Niguel, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Valencia Tigers take on Whitney Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Whitney is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. As for Aliso Niguel, they will challenge Segerstrom at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
