Halls triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Jake Lane

Recap: Halls Red Devils vs. Campbell County Cougars

Even though the Campbell County Cougars scored an imposing 60 points on Monday, the Halls Red Devils still came out on top. Halls enjoyed a cozy 75-60 victory over Campbell County. The win made it back-to-back wins for Halls.

Jake Lane was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Halls' points. Another player making a difference was Colby Comparato, who scored 13 points along with four steals.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Browning, who scored 13 points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Cox, who scored 15 points along with two steals.

Halls has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season. As for Campbell County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halls won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Powell at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Halls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday. As for Campbell County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Knoxville Central at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Campbell County is coming into the game with eight straight losses on the road, meaning Knoxville Central will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
