Baseball Game Preview: Reading Blue Devils vs. Roger Bacon Spartans

The Reading Blue Devils will take on the Roger Bacon Spartans in a tournament on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Reading's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Finneytown as they made off with a 15-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Roger Bacon was able to grind out a solid win over Taylor on Saturday, taking the game 6-1.

The team relied heavily on Kyle Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Vion Gipson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Reading's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Roger Bacon, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Everything went Reading's way against Roger Bacon in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as Reading made off with a 17-3 victory. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
