Softball Game Preview: Eaton Eagles vs. Tri-County North Panthers

The Eaton Eagles will face off against the Tri-County North Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Eaton will be strutting in after a victory while Tri-County North will be coming in after a loss.

Eaton gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a run and slipped past St. Henry 8-7.

Ella Statzer was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Hannah Redick was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Tri-County North fell victim to Tri-Village and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Eaton now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Tri-County North, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6.

Eaton took their win against Tri-County North in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
