It was a good run, but Kempsville unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the First Colonial Patriots. The match was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Kempsville it sure didn't stay that way.

Kempsville's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 10-2-1. As for First Colonial, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Kempsville and First Colonial should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Chiefs (ranked 13th) will meet Tallwood (ranked 132nd) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, First Colonial will face off against Green Run at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 250). The timing is sure in First Colonial's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Green Run have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
