Barr-Reeve is a perfect 8-0 against Eastern Greene since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Vikings will head out to challenge the Thunderbirds at 5:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Barr-Reeve's victory against Tecumseh wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past the Braves 9-8. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Eastern Greene posted their closest victory since April 30th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out North Daviess 6-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Thunderbirds as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Gavin Whitfield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brenton Cook was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Kasen Cullison was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Barr-Reeve pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Eastern Greene, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.

Everything went Barr-Reeve's way against Eastern Greene when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Barr-Reeve made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
