Carolina Academy had to endure a 15-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the Greenville Tech Charter Warriors 22-21. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Jayden Barton was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Barton was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024.
In other batting news, Carolina Academy let Aidan Alston and Christian Bedolla run wild. Alston got on base in three of his six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double, while Bedolla got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Alston a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Stelios Karambasis, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four runs.
Carolina Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They are 4-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Carolina Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
