Fairfax got themselves on the board against Central on Thursday, but Central never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Bobcats. Considering the Stampede have won seven contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Isaiah Balderas was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Alexander Tovar was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Joshua Wright also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Fairfax hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central struck out ten times.
Fairfax has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Central, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.
