Western had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They never let the Jay County Patriots get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 on Saturday.

Western pushed their record up to 23-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Jay County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.
