Casey County hadn't done well against Mercer County recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Casey County Rebels came out on top against the Mercer County Titans by a score of 53-40. For the Rebels, this counts as revenge for the 71-36 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reese Ransdell, who posted nine points. Maddi Baker was another key player, putting up seven points and nine rebounds.

Casey County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. As for Mercer County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.

Looking ahead, Casey County will face off against Danville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mercer County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-53 win against Washington County on the 15th.
