Soccer Game Preview: Rampart vs. Doherty

The Rampart Rams will face off against the Doherty Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Rampart's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Doherty has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Rampart is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Fountain-Fort Carson get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Thursday. Give Rampart's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Fountain-Fort Carson from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Emma Naftanel led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Doherty came into Monday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a goal and slipped past Falcon 1-0.

Rampart is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those six games. As for Doherty, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.

Rampart was able to grind out a solid win over Doherty in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
