Softball Recap: Morgan Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Morgan's offense. They came up short against the Haddam-Killingworth Cougars on Thursday, falling 14-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-0 back in April.

Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Morgan is set to take on their familiar foe East Hampton at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Haddam-Killingworth will face off against rival North Branford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.9, the Thunderbirds 0.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
