Basketball Recap: Maple Lake Takes a Loss

Maple Lake lost against Paynesville back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Maple Lake Irish came up short against the Paynesville Bulldogs, falling 70-44. The Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maple Lake's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Paynesville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-14.

Maple Lake and Paynesville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. Maple Lake (ranked 323rd) will meet Royalton (ranked 24th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Paynesville will face off against Redwood Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday down 170 places (281 vs. 111).
