Preview: Seagoville Dragons vs. South Oak Cliff Bears
Seagoville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The South Oak Cliff Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seagoville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 410th, while South Oak Cliff is ranked 23rd).
Last Friday, Seagoville came up short against Kimball and fell 21-14.
Meanwhile, South Oak Cliff had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They didn't even let Wilson onto the board and left with a 49-0 victory. The result was nothing new for South Oak Cliff, who have now won seven games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Khalil Ewell had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Trey Jackson also helped out with an impressive 88 receiving yards.
With Seagoville's loss and Kimball's victory, both teams now sport identical 7-2 records.
Seagoville was dealt a bruising 55-0 loss at the hands of South Oak Cliff when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Seagoville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
