Volleyball Recap: Southport Extends Winning Streak to Five

Southport had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Decatur Central Hawks. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

In the three sets Southport was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-12, 25-15, 25-13.

Southport found their leader in sophomore Lily Boone, who had 17 digs and four aces.

Southport was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Southport's win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Coming up, Southport will take on Pike at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Decatur Central, they will challenge Perry Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Hawks their first taste of in-conference action this season.
