Joppatowne had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Edgewood Rams 16-1 on Friday. The Mariners haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Tyler Stevens was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Stevens was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Connor Figueroa was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. Ryan Miller was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Joppatowne will have a chance to go back-to-back against Edgewood: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
