Baseball Recap: Arvada West Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Arvada West lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Valor Christian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Eagles on Thursday. Considering the Wildcats have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Levi Lueck was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Cooper Vais, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Arvada West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Arvada West's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Valor Christian, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Arvada West will challenge Ralston Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Valor Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Wildcats' matchup: after the Wildcats face off against the Mustangs, they'll take on Valor Christian again at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
