Softball Recap: Ballard's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

After flying high against Holy Names Academy last Thursday, Ballard came back down to earth. Ballard fell just short of the Bothell Cougars by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. The matchup marked the Beavers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ballard saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wren Wald, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That stolen base was Wald's first of the season. Katie Davis was another, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ballard fell to 4-1. As for Bothell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ballard will challenge Garfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ballard's pitchers better be ready for this one: Garfield has averaged an impressive 14.1 runs per game this season. As for Bothell, they will square off against Skyline at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
