Dewar had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Wetumka Chieftains on Monday as the Dewar Dragons made off with a 16-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Chieftains: they've now won nine in a row.

L. Hankins made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hankins was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, AIDEN TOMLINSON was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was SKELLY TAYLOR, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Dewar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wetumka only posted an OBP of .214.

Looking ahead, Dewar will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Haskell at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wetumka, they will head out on the road to challenge Butner at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
