Calaveras strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let the Summerville Bears get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Red Hawks, who have now won five games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Kamryn Thornburg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three RBI, and one stolen base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendra Baechler, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Verduzco, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Calaveras was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.

Calaveras' record is now 8-0. As for Summerville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calaveras will challenge Riverbank at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Summerville, they will face off against Linden at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
