Volleyball Recap: Newington Nor'easters vs. Hall Titans

Newington unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Hall Titans by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Nor'easters were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Newington wouldn't go down easily and took Hall into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-23, 18-16.

Newington's offense was headlined by Julia Kuczek and Nayla Gonzalez-Costa, who picked up 15 kills apiece. They got some help from Madilyn Tardif and her 42 assists. Olivia Tardif controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Newington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Maloney on the 4th. As for Hall, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Avon on the 5th.
