Basketball Recap: Eastside College Prep Comes Up Short

Eastside College Prep lost against Sacred Heart Prep back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eastside College Prep Panthers came up short against the Sacred Heart Prep Gators, falling 61-38. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 604th, while the Gators are ranked 168th).

Sacred Heart Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Norris, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 16 points and eight boards. Norris is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Straser, who went 7-for-13 en route to 16 points and three steals.

Eastside College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Sacred Heart Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9.

As of now, neither Eastside College Prep nor Sacred Heart Prep have any future games scheduled.
