The Keystone Wildcats will square off against the Steele Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It was a proper cat-fight when Keystone took on Brookside on Saturday. The Wildcats blew past the Cardinals 21-2. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won three games in a row.
Brooklyn Modock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Keystone gave Macie Banks the start and clearly made the right call: she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
Back at the plate, Kaylie Scott was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Anna Wright was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Keystone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in ten consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while Steele put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Circleville. The Comets were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Tigers.
Keystone's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Steele, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
Keystone couldn't quite get it done against Steele in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 6-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
