Baseball Recap: Pocono Mountain West Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pocono Mountain West ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves 4-3. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Owen Kliesh made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Kliesh wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Espinoza, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Espinoza has hit this season.

Pocono Mountain West's victory bumped their record up to 3-16. As for East Stroudsburg North, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pocono Mountain West beat the Timberwolves by a score of 4-3 on Friday.
