Baseball Recap: Dos Palos Has No Trouble Against Sonora

Dos Palos got themselves on the board against Sonora on Saturday, but Sonora never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Sonora Wildcats as they made off with a 10-0 win. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Broncos this season.

Sixto Ibarra made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Tevin Clay was incredible, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Meza, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Dos Palos and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Sonora, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Dos Palos will challenge Atwater at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sonora, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Sonora Wildcats face off against Escalon Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Escalon's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
