Basketball Recap: Macarthur Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

MacArthur had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 65-59 W over the Nimitz Vikings on Tuesday. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

MacArthur's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-19. As for Nimitz, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

MacArthur and Nimitz could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. MacArthur will face off against Lake Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 732 places (771 vs. 39). MacArthur is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 15-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. Meanwhile, Nimitz (ranked 916th) will meet Berkner (ranked 136th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
