Football Preview: Marshall Barristers vs. Belmont Sentinels

Things were looking good for Marshall after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 35-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Contreras.
Marshall might have lost, but man, Joaquin Means was a machine: he rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards.
Marshall wouldn't let Contreras keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force four fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Means, David Velasquez, and Walter Arreaga picked up one apiece. Means also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making two total tackles.
Meanwhile, Belmont had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 23-12 win over Torres two weeks ago.
Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Belmont, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
Everything came up roses for Marshall against Belmont in their previous matchup back in September of 2023 as the squad secured a 43-0 win. Will Marshall repeat their success, or does Belmont have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
