Game recap: Brother Rice High School Football Team takes down Roosevelt

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - Brother Rice (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) snapped Roosevelt (Wyandotte, Mich.)'s 6-game winning streak, with a 31-3 victory on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Cheyne Lacanaria to Sergio Perkovic in the first quarter, the Warriors led 17-3 at the half.

Brother Rice expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. BR scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by Alex Malzone to Grant Perry.

Jacob Simpson made a difference for the Bears. The junior kicked one field goal.

Jason Alessi was the top performer for the Bloomfield Hills school. The junior kicked one field goal and four extra points. He has now scored one touchdowns on the season.



The Warriors had given up an average of 15.3 points prior to the contest. The three points that Roosevelt ended with were well below its average of 31.5 coming into the game. RHS came in allowing just 12.2 points per game this season. The Wyandotte school struggled against Brother Rice's offense, which entered the game scoring 30.5 points per game.

The defeat comes as a step back for Roosevelt, which notched a 10-6 victory over Oak Park in its previous outing.
